8 – James Dean
James Dean is an American actor, born February 8, 1931 in Marion (Indiana) and died September 30, 1955 in Cholame (California).
His portrayal of a rebellious and fragile teenager in the film The Fury of Life makes him, for a whole generation, the symbol of a youth in disarray. His tragic and premature death in a car accident, the beginnings of his glory, contributes to the myth and its entry into the pantheon of American cinema. Uniquely, he is twice nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor posthumously. He is also one of the few actors (five in total) to be nominated in this category for their first film role.
